The choice of an appropriate sink that matches your

can be quite tricky to settle on. There is little information provided on this aspect since most Kitchen Accessory Stores are only interested in selling certain products. Much of what you will find is conflicting statements about particular products from different companies.

Before choosing a kitchen sink, you must first consider exactly how you use it. Do you own a dish washer or do you prefer doing all you re cleaning in the sink? Your day to day kitchen activities will hint you on the appropriate sink to choose for your kitchen. After washing the dishes, do you prefer to dry them by hand or leave them on the sink to dry?

Due to their expanse and versatility, granite countertops offer a wide range of options when it comes to kitchen sinks. The most common types of sinks sold by most dealers include:

Inset or sit on sinks

Under mounted sinks

Butler or Belfast Sinks

Roll top sinks

Complete work surface sinks

Inset sinks which are quite common are usually installed using a hole above the worktop. The hole does not have to be polished which makes it cheaper to order. Actual number and size of bowls is determined by the cabinets you have under the work top.

During the sink installation process, the following factors will come in to play:

-Sinks to be put up above 500mm cabinets can only be limited to large single bowls. The drainer, dishwasher or washing machines will have to be squeezed elsewhere.

-Those with sinks that have 600mm or greater base units are luckier. You have the capacity for a bowl, a half bowl and a drainer provided your worktop is big enough.

-Shallow front to back worktops with large sinks often require extra bars or slips to secure them in place.

-If the worktop is longer than the kitchen counter, a handy man can be able to install other additions according to your specifications. Worktops made from laminate material are however risky and cannot be worked on without danger of blowing.

With the wide selection of sinks available in the market, choosing might be tricky but there is something for everyone. You can get a suitable one according to your budget and taste in style.
